Yesterday we ventured outside of Paris and went to Versailles. After a slight misdirection from our hotel, we ended up at the "port of Versailles" subway station. Not quite what we expected. We figured out how to get back on track (the Paris metro is very impressive!) and arrived in the late morning. Wasn't too crowded, which was good because I'd read it can be crazy there. It is a beautiful place. We did the inside tour, which you see some of the rooms and the amazing hall of mirrors. Then we headed outside for musical fountains day! The gardens are massive! We decided to wandered around the city of Versailles. Got lost trying to find the train station, had a couple of French pastries and did some window shopping. We headed back into Paris and stopped at the Eiffel Tower! Amazing! Stuck around for the 9pm twinkling and headed back to our hotel to rest our weary feet.
