Jacky Loves Doors

Crammed in a lot more sights and 36000 steps in day 3.  Started out by walking to the Louvre,  checking out the Opera house along the way.   Had to use our first pay toilet at the train station.  0.50 euros well spent!   Arrived at the Louvre and went in through the pyramid.   We decided to for the crowds straight to the Mona Lisa and somehow missed the room it's in,  so we backtracked back.   The headed see the Venus de Milo.   We both decided we preferred the sculptures,  to the paintings.    The Mona Lisa was not surprisingly underwhelming, once you make it to the front of the crowds.   The Louvre is an impressive building though,  with gorgeous ceilings.   Spent a couple of hours there,  before moving on to Notre Dame.   Walked along the Seine to get there and popped into Saint Chapelle.   Which has the most incredible stained glass windows,  floor to ceiling!  Good thing Jacky saw someone heading up the stairs or we would have missed the best part.   Took a little break for a snack and then visited Notre Dame.   Mass was going on,  but they still let you in.   Amazing to hear the organ playing!   After taking around 100 photos if the outside,  we headed to the other side of the seine to see Luxembourg gardens.    Found a place to have dinner in the St.  Michel area,  I had escargot,  duck and creme Brulee,  Jacky tried the French onion soup.   From there we wandered back along the seine,  took a ton of night photos and came up the Champs Elysees before heading back the the hotel.   A double on a side note.. Jacky took about 50 pics of different doors during the day.   Next up.... The top of the Eiffel Tower!
